Arianna Solare is a multi-disciplinary artist and Los Angeles native. She credits her diverse musical style and songwriting sensibility to both a South African father and an American born mother who ran a coffee house for folk singers in the 1960's.
As a visionary artist who has worked in film, sound and physicality, Arianna was a prominent part of the thriving avant-garde art and music scenes of post-grunge Seattle. She has had the honor of collaborating with many exceptional artists over the years including, Gigi Gonaway (Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston), Graham Haynes (Roy Haynes, Cindy Sherman), Shannon Funchess (Light Asylum, The Knife), Simeon Spiegel (Peter Murphy, Fergie), Jherek Bischoff (David Byrne, Carla Bozulich), Mitchell Markus (Krishna Das, Ram Das), Eyvind Kang (Laurie Anderson, John Zorn), Gio Loria (Everlast, Black Eyed Peas), the late Chiwoniso (Zimbabwe mbira artist) and Nico Turner (Cat Power), among others.
Self-producing the albums RISE and EVEN IF LONELINESS IS HOLY have provided Arianna with the freedom to integrate her full-spectrum artistic versatility. RISE has a unique analog meets digital vibe, a result of its having been recorded on custom ribbon microphones built under apprenticeship with Stephen Sank (ribbon mic master and son of John R. Sank, creator of the famed RCA 44). Musically it expresses a vast, yet unified range of musicality and songwriting, the culmination of years of perseverance, experimentation, inspiration and dedication. The album was co-produced with Tico Zamora (H.R./Bad Brains, Moe Tucker/Velvet Underground) and mixed-mastered by Chris Wonzer (Linda Perry, Juliette Lewis).
Arianna is currently recording her prolific music publishing catalog, writing a feature script and developing a dramatic comedy series. She is excited to hear other artists sing her songs and to see her stories come to the screen.
